Odysseus/The Odyssey



The Odyssey is a long epic adventure poem. Written in the 700's B.C. by the Greek poet Homer. Odysseus (Ulysses in Latin) was the King of Ithica he travelled to the city of Troy to fight the long harsh Trojan War. On his was home he ran into several different opponents such as Polyphemus (Cyclops), The Lotus-Eaters, The Sirens, and Circe who turned the men into pigs. After 20 years of being gone Odysseus returned to Ithica by himself to return to his wife Penelope.
